LifeCare To Close, 171 Will Be Laid Off: Report
Among the layoffs will be 25 certified nursing assistants, nine PRN registered nurses among others. Here's when it closes for good.

WAUKESHA COUNTY, WI — Citing rising costs and and financial losses, a Pewaukee hospital informed state legislators that it's planning to shut its doors for good in June.
LifeCare Hospitals of Wisconsin alerted state officials that they would be closing their hospital located at 2400 Golf Road in Pewaukee.
According to a mass layoff notice sent to the state Department of Workforce Development on April 24, LifeCare will lay off 171 employees there by June 23.

Among the layoffs will be 25 certified nursing assistants, nine PRN registered nurses, six nursing supervisors, six monitor techs, six occupational therapists among others.
In a statement published in the Milwaukee Business Journal, LifeCare Hospitals of Wisconsin said the facility "had been losing money because of regulatory pressures, declining volumes and decreased reimbursements and could not continue to sustain losses."

Patient care will continue until the unit's population is either discharged or transferred, according to the report.
