Man Dies In Waukesha County Jail: Report

WAUKESHA, WI — On Thursday, August 9, officials in Waukesha learned of a death that occurred in the Waukesha County Jail. According to reports, at just after 5 p.m. Thursday, a 60-year-old Milwaukee man was found unconscious and not breathing in the jail.

According to the Waukesha County Sheriff's office, life-saving measures were attempted by the corrections staff until they were relieved by the City of Waukesha Fire Department. The man was later pronounced dead from unknown causes.

Sheriff's officials said the man was brought into the Waukesha County Jail on August 8, 2018 on charges that were not disclosed to the public. The Waukesha County Sheriff's office has requested that the Washington County Sheriff’s Office conduct the investigation into the man's death.

At this time, the matter remains under investigation by the Washington County The Sheriff’s Office in Washington County in addition to Waukesha officials say they will release additional information as it comes to light.
