Man Identified In Fatal Waukesha County Train Accident: Police
Authorities have identified the man who died after his pickup truck collided with a train Monday in the Town of Merton in Waukesha County.

WAUKESHA COUNTY, WI — Authorities have identified the man who died Monday, Nov. 6 in the Town of Merton in Waukesha County.
According to a FOX6 report, the collision took place just before noon Monday on E. Kilbourne Rd. in the Town of Merton. The lone occupant of the pickup truck was thrown from the truck as a result of the collision, media reports say.
Authorities have identified the man who died as a result of this accident as Timothy Stapleton, a 74-year- old man from North Lake, Wis.

Update 4:26 p.m. Monday
The Waukesha County Sheriff’s Office said they received a call from the Union Pacific Railroad Monday advising one of their trains traveling eastbound at Kilbourne Road in the Town of Merton, struck a vehicle facing southbound on the tracks. Stapleton, the sole occupant of the vehicle was thrown from the vehicle upon impact and sustained life-threatening injuries.

The flashing red lights and audible signal of the railroad crossing sign were both working at the time of the incident, Sheriff's officials said.
