Police Identify Man Fatally Struck By Train: 'A Tragic Accident'
Police have identified the man who died Monday when he and his dog were struck by an oncoming train, and also revealed more of this tragedy.

WAUKESHA, WI — A man who was walking his dog during the early morning hours of Monday, March 26 has been identified by police - who also say the story is more tragic than initially thought.
According to police, 73-year-old Alois G. Hinkes was walking his dog along the railroad tracks, when the Canadian National train came through the area near Carroll and Barstow Streets. Police are reporting Tuesday that as the train came through the area, it scared the dog, causing the dog's fright to pull Hinkes onto the railroad tracks.
Police say both Hinkes and his dog were then both struck by the oncoming train. Hinkes is a Waukesha resident and lived in the area of where the accident occurred.
