Man Drives Straight Into Fox River, Is Safe: Report
Waukesha police responded to the Fox River near the intersection of Buckley Street and Corinna Blvd. after a man drove into the river.

WAUKESHA, WI — A 65-year-old Hartford man is safe after police said he drove his red pickup truck into the Fox River late Wednesday night.
Waukesha police responded to the Fox River near the intersection of Buckley Street and Corinna Blvd. just before 9 p.m. on May 1 on a report that the driver of a sport utility vehicle drove it into the Fox River, and was calling for help.
Waukesha police told Patch that the driver, a 65-year-old man from Hartford was able to exit his vehicle and swim to shore just after he called for help.

Police said he was treated by first responders and released. Police said he suffered no major injuries as a result of the crash.
Police said the man told officers that he was unfamiliar with the area and didn't realize the road ended at the river. According to a WTMJ report, the driver got dizzy near Buckley and Corrina, passed out and ended up driving into the river.

According to reports, a water rescue team secured the man's vehicle, which was visible about 15 yards off shore, and towed it in. All of the vehicle except about a foot of it was submerged, police said.
