Man With Knife Arrested After Stabbing Self In Assault: Police
A Waukesha man has been arrested and charged after police say he attempted to stab a victim - only to stab himself in the process.

WAUKESHA, WI — A Waukesha man has been arrested and charged after police say he attempted to stab a victim - only to stab himself in the process.
Waukesha police responded to the 700 block of Maple Ave. on a report of a man with a knife.
Waukesha police told Patch that a responding officer arrived on the scene just after 7:30 p.m. on May 16, and learned that a man - later identified as Jesse L. Dowling - pulled out a knife, ended up stabbing himself and fled.

According to police reports, a witness told authorities that Dowling pulled a knife and tried stabbing the apparent victim, only to stab himself.
Waukesha police told Patch that the responding officer managed to make phone contact with Dowling, and he was later arrested near Bethesda Park just before 9 p.m.

Police said that Dowling was arrested and later charged with disorderly conduct, domestic use, use of a dangerous weapon, both as a repeat offender.
He is currently being held in the Waukesha County Jail.
