Man Takes Car From Woman Who Was In Labor: Report

Police retrieved the car keys and hospital security returned them to the fiancee in the hospital room later that evening.

WAUKESHA, WI -- Police in Waukesha say that a man took his fiancee's car while she was in labor.

According to Waukesha police, at just after 5 a.m. on Sep. 13, a security officer at Waukesha Memorial Hospital called police saying that a man was driving erratically in the hospital parking lot.

According to reports, he got out of the car and started walking north on Fairmont from Lawndale, leaving the car in the parking lot with its hazard lights on.

Reports stated that security contacted the owner of the car - the man's fiancee who was currently in labor in the hospital's labor and delivery department.

Waukesha police said that they made contact with the man back at his home on Randall Street, where they learned that he suffered from an apparent medical issue at the time he was behind the wheel. Police retrieved the car keys and security returned them to the fiancee in the hospital room later that evening.
