Man Tried Swimming Through Marsh To Avoid Police: Report
Police say that a man tried swimming through a marsh at about midnight to avoid capture by Waukesha police. He didn't make it.

WAUKESHA, WI — Police in Waukesha responded to the intersection of E. Racine Ave. and Highway 164 just before midnight on June 19 on a report of a traffic stop that escalated into a police chase.
Police told Waukesha Patch that during this particular traffic stop, a passenger in the suspect's vehicle got out of the vehicle and ran west towards First Federal Bank.
A short foot pursuit ensued. Police then said that the suspect ran into the marsh area where he was heard making splashing sounds in the water, according to reports. Reports also stated that police summoned the department's K9 officer in the event he would be needed to track the suspect down.
apprehended a short time later without incident.

The person who was arrested had a valid warrant for his arrest and is believed to be the reason he fled. The other occupants of the vehicle were released at the scene.
