Man Who Threatened Playground Kids Also Lectured By Police: Cops

Police in Waukesha say a resident immediately regretted the way he threatened children who were seen damaging a playground.

WAUKESHA, WI — Waukesha police say officers sternly lectured a group of kids - and the person who called police on them - following an incident that happened at Grandview Park Wednesday night.

According to Waukesha police logs, officers responded to the 1000 block of N. Grandview Blvd. just before 8 p.m. on the evening of May 22 on a report of disorderly conduct.

A resident in the area called police, saying that a group of six children were causing damage to the playground. According to police call logs, the resident admitted to threatening to shoot the children, but later recanted, saying he didn't mean to say what he said.

According to police, when officers responded, they conducted a search of the man and his vehicle for a gun - and later learned the man was not armed.

According to police logs, the person who called police said he regretted issuing the verbal threats to the children, and was cooperative with officers during the incident.

Police said that there was no permanent damage caused by the children. Police said they eventually located the children, who were also strongly spoken to by police about the choices they made.

No arrests were made, and no citations were issued according to police call log information.
