Masked Man Breaks Into Waukesha Mobil, Steals Safe: Police

According to eyewitness reports, a man was seen running with a "large box" at the time of the apparent burglary.

WAUKESHA, WI — Police say a man wearing a black ski mask broke into the Mobil Gas Station to steal a safe early Tuesday.

Waukesha police responded to the Mobil gas station on North St. on a report of a burglary.

According to police reports, officers responded to the gas station just before 2 a.m. on a report of a glass break alarm.

When officers arrived, they saw that the gas station's storefront window had been broken, and a suspect entered the business.

Police set up a perimeter in the area and cleared the area just before 3 a.m. Updated information from the scene indicated the suspect, described as six feet tall, with a slim build, wearing a dark sweatshirt and blue jeans and a ski mask, stole a safe from the business.

Police are continuing to investigate the crime.
