Melvin Announces Run For Waukesha County Judge Seat
Former Lieutenant Governor Margaret Farrow and former Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice David Prosser will serve as his campaign Co-Chairs.

WAUKESHA COUNTY, WI β Attorney and Iraq veteran Jack Melvin announced his candidacy for the Waukesha County Circuit Court Branch 5 seat that will in the April 2020 election.
This will be Melvin's second try for a seat on the Waukesha County bench after he was narrowly defeated by opponent Laura Lau in April 2018 for the Branch 12 seat. Lee S. Dreyfus, Jr. is the current Branch 5 judge.
In announcing his candidacy this week, Melvin also said that former Lieutenant Governor Margaret Farrow and former Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice David Prosser will serve as his campaign Co-Chairs.

βWaukesha County has a proud tradition of electing judges that respect the rule of law and I hope to bring yet another conservative voice to the bench," Melvin said in a statement to Patch. "I was called to serve my country through three tours in the Middle East. I hope to earn the support of the good people of Waukesha County so that as a judge I can bring that unique experience and perspective to our community.
Melvin, 45, lives in Oconomowoc with his wife and two daughters, and currently serves as a
staff attorney with the Labor and Industry Review Commission in Madison.

Melvin was active in litigation in a variety of roles, serving as the Wisconsin Division of Gaming Division Administrator, and managed litigation at QBE North America for nearly 12 years.
Melvin served 40 months of active duty of which 36 months were spent overseas as a member of the Wisconsin National Guard at the rank of Major.
