Mercedes Driver Runs From Cops After Spinning Out On I-94

An off-duty Waukesha firefigher called police after he saw the driver of a Mercedes spin out and strike a concrete barrier on I-94

WAUKESHA, WI — An off-duty Waukesha firefigher called police after he saw the driver of a Mercedes spin out and strike a concrete barrier on I-94 before pulling into a Waukesha Walgreens.

Waukesha police responded to the Walgreens on N. Grandview Blvd. just before 11 p.m. on May 27 on a report of a black Mercedes that just exited I-94 onto Grandview, but hit a cement pilon, spun out and then pulled into Walgreens.

According to police reports, the two occupants of the vehicle were out surveying the damage to their vehicle while in the Walgreens parking lot before police arrived.

When authorities arrived, the two subjects reportedly took off running away from the car.

Police followed the driver and passenger as they split off into different directions with the driver heading toward Office Depot and the passenger heading by Culver's.

Police eventually managed to corral the driver and passenger. Police reportedly administered field sobriety tests. Upon the completion of those tests, officers took the driver into custody on an apparent OWI.
