MILWAUKEE -- The City of Milwaukee has agreed to pay nearly $1 million in damages and attorney fees to a strip club after the city lost a lawsuit in federal court after repeatedly denying the strip club a license to operate downtown.
According to a report by ONMilwaukee, the city has agreed to cut a check for $968,331.75 after it lost its lawsuit at trial and then again in the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals.
According to the ONMilwaukee report, Silk had previously applied for licenses several times in several different areas of Downtown, including, and each time, residents and businesses in the area mounted campaigns to deny the license.
