Motorcycle Driver Dies In Roundabout Crash: Report

Authorities say a Saint Francis man is dead following a collision between a Harley Davidson motorcycle and a Toyota Prius.

WAUKESHA COUNTY, WI — Authorities in Waukesha County say a 77-year-old Saint Francis man has died following a two-vehicle accident in the Town of Genesee on Thursday afternoon.

Waukesha County Sheriff's officials say that the man was driving a Harley-Davidson three-wheeled motorcycle on Highway 83 near Fields Crossing Drive when he collided with the driver of a Toyota Prius as the Prius driver was slowing as she approached the intersection.

The intersection is a four-way roundabout with Highway 83 heading in a north-south direction and Fields Crossing Drive heading to the West and Saylesville Road heading off to the East.

Investigators say in their report that the driver of the Harley-Davidson three-wheeled motorcycle failed to slow down, and collided with the back of the Prius. Authorities say the man was transported to the Aurora Summit Hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.

Authorities told Waukesha Patch that the accident happened at about 4:40 p.m. Thursday and that the driver of the Prius, a 67-year-old woman from Bristol, was not injured in the crash.

According to Sheriff's officials, the crash remains under investigation, and the name of the deceased is being withheld as family members are notified of their loved one's death.
