National Coffee Day 2016: Where to Find a Free Cup (And Where You Won't) in Wisconsin

WISCONSIN -- Thursday, Sept. 29 is National Coffee Day and there are some great deals at your local coffee shops. Find out which ones do, and which ones don't.

As always, the most cost-effective way to serve up a hot cup of coffee is at home.

Whether a hole in the wall or a national chain, here are some of the deals out there:

Dunkin' Donuts: Celebrating 66 years of its signature coffee, Dunkin's National Coffee Day deal is a medium-sized hot coffee for 66 cents. They're also bringing back the Coffee Day Snapchat Geofilter design. It's available for just one day and can be unlocked at any of Dunkin' Donuts’ U.S. locations.

Krispy Kreme: Visit Krispy Kreme for a free original glazed doughnut and a free 12-ounce cup of coffee at all participating locations.

Starbucks: On National Coffee Day, is not giving away free coffee to consumers, but Starbucks will plant one tree for each purchase of fresh brewed Mexico Chiapas coffee at 13,500 Starbucks locations.

Pilot Flying J is treating guests to a free small cup of Pilot Coffee - or another hot beverages of their choice, including tea and cappuccino - when you display an online coupon on the company's Facebook page.

Caribou Coffee: For every cup of Amy’s Blend Coffee you buy, Caribou Coffee will donate a free cup of coffee to caregivers at hospitals and health facilities across the country to remember Caribou Coffee’s original Roastmaster, Amy Erickson, who passed away from cancer in 1995.

Dairy Queen: Get a small iced coffee for $1, an Ultimate Frappe for $2 or a Premium Fruit Smoothie for $2 Monday through Friday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. for happy hour at participating locations.
