Paul Hamm Still Seeks Olympic Comeback

Paul Hamm, a graduate and Olympian champion, is still training for the Summer 2012 Olympics, despite his recent legal troubles, according to news reports.

His lawyer, Bill Meeks, told the Associated Press earlier this month that Hamm is working to represent the U.S. in London.

Hamm won the all-around gymnastics competition in the 2004 Olympics and won a silver medal in the team competition and a silver in the parallel bars. 

Hamm graduated from Ohio State in 2007. He attempted a comeback in 2008 for the Olympics in Beijing but an injury kept him from competing in the last summer Olympics. Hamm announced in 2010 that he wanted to compete in the 2012 Olympics.

Meanwhile, Hamm is awaiting trial on misdemeanor charges after he was accused of assaulting a taxi cab driver earlier this year. He is out on bail and is next scheduled to go before the Upper Arlington, Ohio, court on Feb. 2.
