Phone Scam Poses As Waukesha Clerk Of Courts: Police
Officials say if you have unpaid fines, you will receive written notice in the mail if you have any unfinished business.

WAUKESHA, WI — The Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department has taken several complaints regarding another telephone scam in the area.
According to Sheriff's officials, people have reported receiving phone calls from an unknown person stating they are from the Waukesha County Clerk of Courts. The person goes on to say that you owe money for jury duty, or fees related to a court hearing or unpaid fines. They are asking for your credit card information to pay off any unpaid fines or fees. According to officials, if you do not answer, the person leaves a message advising you to call the Waukesha County Clerk of Courts at 262-408- 6373.
Sheriff's officials say this is not a valid number for the clerk of courts, and are avising people to not call them back, because the Waukesha County Clerk of Courts will not call you about unpaid fines.
