Plumbing Work Cited As Cause For Dixie Drive Fire
According to the Waukesha Fire Department, crews were dispatched to an apartment at 1955 Dixie Drive just before 8 p.m.

WAUKESHA, WI -- Investigators say plumbing work done by a maintenance worker was the likely cause of an apartment fire Tuesday night on Dixie Drive in Waukesha.
According to the Waukesha Fire Department, crews were dispatched to an apartment at 1955 Dixie Drive just before 8 p.m.
Fire officials said first responders found a small fire in a wall in apartment unit number four, and in a nearby ceiling joist space. Fire officials said that it took extensive work by firefighters to reach the source of the fire so it could be extinguished.

Officials said there were no injuries reported, and one apartment resident was temporarily displaced as a result of the fire and smoke damage.
Officials estimated the damage to be about $15,000.
