WAUKESHA, WI — Police in Waukesha say the person responsible for stealing a woman's gun from inside her vehicle has been arrested.

According to Waukesha police reports, officers responded to a home on the 2900 block of Stillwater Circle just before 3 p.m. on May 1 on a report of a vehicle break-in.

Police said the woman called authorities after she found that her gun was missing from inside her vehicle. Police also said an acquaintance was arrested later that day by police in Butler, and that the acquaintance had the gun on him.

Police said they learned the gun had been stolen from her vehicle by the acquaintance while he was over at her house during a large party.
