A runner found a machete in the middle of a bike trail just west of Grandview on the Glacial Drumlin State Trail. Caller said the machete appeared “brand new.”

Tuesday, 8:29 p.m.

1200 block of Fleetfoot Dr.

A caller reported that they lost their tablet the other day and found it recently smashed up in the back yard. The caller reviewed security footage and reported the neighbor kids did it.

When asked about it, one of the kids told police that they found the tablet and smashed it because they thought it was broken and did not know who it belonged to. The young person was advices what they should do the next time they find property that does not belong to them.

Wallet found

Tuesday, 7 p.m.

A person returned a wallet containing $140 and bank cards to the police after the owner was not able to be contacted. Police say the wallet will be inventoried.

Where’s the fire?

Tuesday, 9:17 a.m.

100 Corinna Blvd.

A caller informed police that sometime in the past 24 hours, an unknown actor had removed a fire extinguisher from the 2nd floor of the apartment and discharged it throughout the hall, in the laundry room and down the stairs, causing significant damage. Caller said that maintenance would review security footage and advise police if they can find the suspects.

Car break-in

Wednesday, 9:15 a.m.

2200 block of Silvernail

A caller reported that the window of their vehicle had been smashed out and that a CD player had been stolen.

Identity Theft

Wednesday, 7:20 a.m.

1900 block of Delafield St.

A caller informed police that her sister had been using her name when she “gets arrested.” The caller told police that she found out because she got turned down for a job due to her apparent criminal history.
