Police Called Over Country Springs Gun Incident
Waukesha police say a security guard at the Country Springs Hotel took an intoxicated man's request the wrong way regarding a gun he had.

WAUKESHA, WI — Waukesha police say a security guard at the Country Springs Hotel and Water Park took an intoxicated man's request the wrong way, when he reportedly asked the security guard if he could take his gun for the evening.
According to police reports, the security guard called police just before 11:30 p.m. Friday on a report that the male hotel guest was threatening hotel staff, had a gun in his hotel room, and that he was a police officer.
Minutes later, a hotel manager followed-up with police on a separate phone call, telling police that he believed the security guard did not have the story correct and that the situation was not as "bad" as it appeared, reports indicated.

Four squads were dispatched to the hotel several minutes later. Their preliminary investigation determined that the situation had been a misunderstanding between the security guard and the male guest, according to reports.
According to police reports, when officers investigated further, they determined that the man was intoxicated, was bothering other hotel guests, and had been asked to leave by hotel management. He then asked security if they could take his handgun for the night, stating that he was did not feel responsible to keep the gun in his possession for the evening.

According to reports, the man did not threaten anyone in the building, and was given a ride to another hotel for the night.
