Police Called To Waukesha Wedding Reception Over Fight: Report

WAUKESHA, WI — A Waukesha wedding reception went sideways over the weekend after police say a dispute between the disc jockey and the wedding party resulted in a scuffle, spilled water, and hurt feelings.

According to Waukesha police logs, officers responded to the Tuscan Hall Banquet Center 409 Delafield Street just before 8 p.m. on Saturday, May 18 on a report of a fight.

Police said they had to stand by and oversee the situation as the disc jockey packed up and left for the evening just after 9 p.m. that evening.

Police logs stated that the incident began as the best man was giving a speech. He dropped the microphone on the table, and the disc jockey became upset when the best man wouldn't give the microphone back.

According to police, a bridesmaid's boyfriend pushed the disc jockey in retaliation. Police said they reviewed cell phone video of the altercation and the officer on-scene noted that the disc jockey had been out of line.

Police noted that officers counseled both sides on their unruly actions, and also noted that the wedding party wished the disc jockey to pack up and leave.
