WAUKESHA, WI — Police respond to all kinds of domestic situations, but on Tuesday night, police in Waukesha investigated a case of mistaken identity ... but not over a person. It was over a matter of laundry.
According to police reports in Waukesha, officers responded to the 300 block of Mountain Ave. just before 9:30 p.m. Tuesday after an apartment resident observed two people yelling in the parking lot over laundry.
According to the report, the resident reportedly got upset at the wrong tenant and confronted her, allegedly breaking her phone.

Police intervened, but the offended party did not wish any criminal complaint, but did not want any further contact with the woman.
The plot thickened moments later as the woman apologized for the mistaken identity. According to the report, as she was apologizing, another alleged thief entered the scene. The woman was advised that she has no more credibility, as the two alleged thieves looked nothing alike.
