Police: Talked To Man For 45 Minutes To Prevent Hanging
Police say they negotiated with a man in order to prevent him from hanging himself from a tree with a dog leash on Easter Sunday.

WAUKESHA, WI — Waukesha police took a man into protective custody late on Easter Sunday after they say a man wanted to hang himself from a tree with the use of a leash.
According to police reports, officers responded to a home on the 100 block of Carroll St. just after 9:30 p.m. on a report of a man who had climbed a tree and was threatening to hang himself with the use of a leash.
Police told Waukesha Patch that a police officer talked with the man for 45 minutes, building a rapport and attempting to talk him out of the tree.

Police said the troubled man ended up readjusting his position in the tree, and fell out of the tree, andbreaking the branch the leash was attached to. He only suffered minor injuries before he was taken into custody.
Police said the man was transported to the Waukesha Memorial Hospital Emergency Room by the Waukesha Fire Department, due to him falling out of a tree in his backyard with a dog leashed wrapped around his neck.

Police said he remained at the hospital until the medical clearance process was complete.
