Rabid Aardvarks Takes Stage at Summerfest at 3 p.m.
Contemporary band started in Waukesha.

When Kevin Machan was a high school student at Waukesha South, he was in a band with his buddies. A 1987 graduate of the Waukesha School District, Machan said the band was together from 1986 to 1989.
“We went dark until 2004 when the guitarist and I resurrected,” Machan said.
Machan, who plays the keyboards and is the business manager for Rabid Aardvarks, takes the stage with the six-member band at 3 p.m. today at the Miller Lite Oasis stage.

“You get a day like today and you get a little bit of breeze off the lake, it is just a really cool experience to be on that big of a stage and to have that lake in the background," Machan said.
Rabid Aardvarks targets their music toward a younger generation, playing contemporary pop and modern country, Machan said.
