Retzer Nature Center To Host Citizen Science Day
Attendees are welcome to come for one session or to stay for them all. Registration is free, but required by Friday, April 12.

WAUKESHA, WI -- Members of the public are invited to the Retzer Nature Center for a Citizen Science Day on Saturday, April 13 from 9 a.m. to noon.
Attendees will learn about Waukesha County’s first-ever Conservation in the Parks Program
from Waukesha County’s conservation biologist and teaching naturalist.
“Our citizen science programs offer great opportunities for members of the public to get involved with local research efforts,” said Janet Barthel, Nature Center Supervisor in a statement to Patch.

“We invite everyone to come out to learn more about how they can help study and protect rare plants and animals in the parks.”
The first session will highlight the current conservation programs, stewardship projects and
educational opportunities people can engage in throughout Waukesha Count.

Volunteers will be trained to help monitor wetlands, birds, small mammals, amphibians, reptiles, butterflies, and more.
The following two sessions will invite participants on a migratory bird hike and a wetland monitoring program.
