Salvation Army Opens Food Pantry To Government Shutdown Families
Salvation Army food pantries open to those rendered unemployed by partial shutdown.

WAUKESHA, WI -- The partial government shutdown is affecting many— some directly through the loss of paychecks and others indirectly who rely on business from government employees.
All Salvation Army food pantries in the State of Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan
are available to serve those who are in need and who qualify.
“Those who are unemployed or rendered unemployed by the shutdown qualify,” said Major
Steve Merritt, the Divisional Commander for The Salvation Army of Wisconsin and Upper Michigan. “Government employees simply need to present their government issued ID card."
