South St. to Close Amid Construction in Downtown Waukesha

Construction work in Downtown Waukesha is entering a new phase, which means that parts of South Street will be closed.

WAUKESHA, WI — Construction work in Downtown Waukesha is entering a new phase, which means that parts of South Street will be closed as workers continue a lengthy construction project.

The project includes replacing water mains, sewer lines and adding parking.

Phase 2 of the reconstruction project will move the primary focus of the underground utility work onto South St., and close South St. within the project limits (From Clinton St. to N. Grand Avenue). N. Grand Avenue will also remain closed during this Phase of the project in the same fashion that it has been since the beginning of the project.

Workers have now completed the sanitary sewer replacement work throughout the project limits and has moved onto the water main replacement work in the N. Grand and South St. intersection.

Next week they will be continuing the water main replacement work along N. Grand Avenue, and will also move onto completing the storm sewer replacement work on N. Grand Avenue.
