Speeding Vehicle Eludes Police, Officers Investigating: Police

Officers noted that the fleeing vehicle's top speed was 78 miles per hour and that the pursuit covered 1.4 miles.

WAUKESHA, WI — Waukesha police responded to the area of E. Broadway and N. Greenfield Ave. just before 1 a.m. on Jan. 30 on a report of a speeding vehicle.

Waukesha police told Patch.com that an officer on patrol saw a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed near Broadway and Greenfield.

Police say the officer pursued the silver-colored vehicle, which continued to drive at a high rate of speed and was not stopping for stop signs. According to police reports, the vehicle was described as a newer Ford Fusion.

Police told Patch that the officer eventually lost sight of the vehicle and the pursuit was terminated. Officers noted that the fleeing vehicle's top speed was 78 miles per hour and that the pursuit covered 1.4 miles. The suspect vehicle was not located.

No arrests have been made or citations issued, and the incident remains under investigation.
