Springdale Apartment Fire Causes $20K Damage
More than $20,000 in damage was done to an apartment on the 2400 block of Springdale Rd late Tuesday. Learn what may have started the fire:

WAUKESHA, WI — More than $20,000 in damage was done to an apartment on the 2400 block of Springdale Rd late Tuesday after a man reportedly fell asleep with a lit cigarette.
On August 29 th at 11:30pm Waukesha Fire and Police were dispatched for a reported structure fire at 2401 Springdale Rd Apt.2A.

extinguished and confined to the apartment. One civilian was transported to a local hospital as a result of the fire.
There were no injuries to Fire or Police personnel. Damage is estimated in excess of $20,000. The cause remains under investigation.

According to police reports, a male fell asleep with a cigarette, and authorities had to force entry in order to extricate the man in question prior to transporting him to the hospital for treatment.
