Squirrel! Police Dispatched To Burglary Call

According to Waukesha police reports, a kitchen window on a resident's apartment building was open, and the screen was broken.

WAUKESHA, WI — Waukesha police were dispatched to the 400 block of S. Grand Ave. just before 10 a.m. Tuesday on a report of a burglary.

According to police reports, a kitchen window on a resident's apartment building was open, and the screen was broken when the resident got home.

The resident reportedly went into the kitchen and found food on the floor. The resident exited the house and waited for police outside on the possibility that the suspect was still inside.

When police arrived, they determined that entry was made by a squirrel, and that the squirrel was a known party of nuissance in the past for the resident.

Police advised the resident to contact her landlord to assist with the capture and removal of the squirrel - who was not on-scene.
