Standoff on Macarthur Ends Peacefully

WAUKESHA, WI — Waukesha police were dispatched to the 2100 block of Macarthur Road on a report of a man who was intending self-harm just after 8 p.m. Tuesday.

According to police, a person got into an argument with her boyfriend earlier in the day, and had indicated that "if he wanted to, it could be done in a minute," after he reportedly showed a different friend a gun earlier in the day.

Several squads responded to the area, the man had three guns in the house and had a conceal carry license.

Police and fire staged outside the residence, and the man was located in the garage.

Police moved toward the residence and ordered the man out of the garage.

By just before 9 p.m. the man eventually cooperated with police and exited the garage where he was taken into custody.

He was later transported to the emergency room.
