A 17-year-old Mukwonago High School student has been arrested and charged as an adult.

WAUKESHA COUNTY, WI — A 17-year-old Mukwonago High School student has been arrested and charged as an adult after authorities said he told people he was going to conduct a school shooting and other violence.

According to a Journal Sentinel report, Jared T. Roberts of North Prairie told coworkers at Walmart that he was going to shoot up the high school on April 20, and admitted to police that he talked about the Columbine shooting - a 1999 shooting that killed 12.

According to the report, he told a co-worker that when he ran out of ammunition, he would use a knife to stab people.
