Suspect Flees Waukesha Police Only To Turn Himself In

A man wanted for retail theft and obstructing police in Wauwatosa was on the run in Waukesha last week, until he turned himself in.

WAUKESHA, WI — A man wanted for retail theft and obstructing police in Wauwatosa was on the run in Waukesha last week, until he turned himself in.

According to police reports, officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop at the intersection of Summit Ave. and N. Grandview Blvd. just after 9 p.m. on Aug. 24, only to have the suspect take off on police.

The suspect, who was wearing black shorts, a black shirt, red shorts and flip flops, headed west on Summit past the Siena House.

Officers set up a perimeter in the area, as the man attempted to hide in a shed in the back yard of a home on the 700 block of N. Moreland.

As police searched the area, officers advised residents to stay inside their homes as they looked for the suspect.

A witness on Glenn said the suspect was hidden behind a thicket of bushes behind his house, only to have the man flee again. Another resident said they though the suspect was hiding in their raspberry bushes right around that time.

Although he managed to elude police, he later turned himself into police.
