Upset Waukesha Driver Tries Driving Vehicle Off Tow Truck

Waukesha police responded to the Cambridge Apartments just before 3 a.m. on Saturday on a report of a disorderly conduct call.

WAUKESHA, WI — An upset vehicle owner was told by police that he had to talk to apartment management after he tried driving his car off a tow truck early Saturday.

Waukesha police responded to the Cambridge Apartments just before 3 a.m. on Saturday on a report of a disorderly conduct call at the complex.

According to police, J&J Towing was towing illegally-parked vehicles from the property, and in the process of towing a vehicle that was parked on the grass and over the parking lines when the owner of the vehicle confronted the tow truck driver.

Reports stated that the vehicle was in the process of being towed, and was halfway up the tow ramp when the owner of the vehicle jumped into his vehicle and attempted to drive it off the tow truck. He was not successful.

When police arrived, the vehicle owner was upset because he stated he had a parking pass and resided at the Cambridge Apartments, reports said.

Reports stated that officers spoke to the man, stating that his situation was a civil issue and that he needed to speak with management.

Parking Woes Result In Tows

In early September, parking woes at a number of Waukesha apartment complexes left residents without a place to park, and a local towing company reported it was just doing their job to help residents get their spots back.

Some residents, however, not used to having their cars towed for being parked on the grass or without permits, were reportedly learning the hard way that parking enforcement is in effect.
