Wanted Man Caught On Madera: Report

Waukesha police said they lost the man they were chasing on I-94, but found a much easier way to catch him later on.

WAUKESHA, WI -- Waukesha police say they arrested a man wanted on a probation violation after he initially fled police - but returned to his parked getaway car later that night. Waukesha police responded to an apartment on the 1900 block of Madera Street just after 8 p.m. on Sep. 24 on a report of a wanted person.

According to police reports, a Waukesha police officer on patrol near the area of Highway 164 and Coral tried to pull over a vehicle for reckless driving.

Police said the driver ignored the officer's attempt to conduct a traffic stop and then accelerated away, fleeing police first on Main Street, then to Moreland Blvd. and eventually on I-94. Waukesha police stopped the pursuit after they lost sight of the driver on I-94.
