Wanted Man Tried Eluding Waukesha Officers: Police

A man wanted in West Allis was arrested in Waukesha Tuesday, but not before compounding matters by trying to flee officers.

WAUKESHA, WI — A man wanted in West Allis was arrested in Waukesha Tuesday, but not before compounding matters by trying to flee officers.

Waukesha police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with expired registration just after 12:30 a.m. Tuesday near the intersection of S. Prairie Ave. and W. Sunset Dr.

According to police reports, the driver of the vehicle, Benjamin Rodriguez-Diaz, attempted to flee police, however eventually stopped his vehicle of his own accord as officers pursued him.

Police told Waukesha Patch that Rodriguez-Diaz was arrested for having a warrant out of West Allis. Rodriguez-Diaz was also cited for fleeing an officer.

Information on Rodriguez-Diaz warrant out of West Allis was not available.
