Waukesha County Says Family's 'Dangerous' Dog Needs To Go

The report stated that family dog George had two incidents in which George scratched two people - with wounds that required stitches.

WAUKESHA, WI -- A Waukesha family is trying to save their 120-pound Great Dane from being euthanized or kicked out of Waukesha County under orders from the county after officials declared their family pet as a "prohibited dangerous animal" under local rules.

According to a Journal Sentinel report, the family of Thomas and Bea Robertson say their Great Dane, named George, is simply"rambunctious." The report stated that George had two incidents in which George scratched two people - with wounds that required stitches.

County officials designated George a "prohibited dangerous animal" based on causing "severe bodily harm" - a claim that the family strongly objects. The family is asking the court to overturn George's designation.
