Waukesha Crossing Guard Calls Police Over Traffic Woes: Report

WAUKESHA, WI — Waukesha police may be patrolling the area of S. University Drive and Pendleton Place a little more closely in the coming days after a crossing guard called police over school-time traffic woes at an important pedestrian crossing.

According to Waukesha police call logs, a crossing guard called police at just after 9 a.m. Thursday on a report that she was having issues with vehicles failing to yield as she crosses children both before school and during after-school pickups.

The police logs state that the crossing guard says drivers will make a right-hand turn as she is crossing children with her handheld stop sign still deployed.
