Waukesha Girl Survives Roofing Scare: Report

When the parents of a Waukesha girl scheduled a roofer to come over to assess a repair and didn't tell their daughter, police were called.

WAUKESHA, WI — The young daughter of Waukesha parents had the scare of a lifetime after her parents didn't tell her a roofer was coming over to conduct measurements for a roof repair while she was alone at home.

According to Waukesha police reports, officers were dispatched to a home on the 2000 block of W. St. Paul Ave. just before 2 p.m. on April 29 on a report of a burglary in progress.

According to reports, the girl called police after she saw a car in the driveway that she didn't recognize.

Several squads were dispatched as the girl went running upstairs to hide in a closet as she briefly saw the man and heard footsteps throughout the house.

Police responded to the house and managed to encourage the girl to leave the closet. When officers investigated, they determined that her father scheduled a roofer to measure the roof for a repair job, but didn't tell her.
