Waukesha House Fire Causes $15,000 In Damage: Report
Authorities say a resident threw hot grill coals and ash into a plastic garbage container.

WAUKESHA, WI -- Authorities in Waukesha say a house fire was caused by the improper disposal of hot coals and ash from a grill.
According to Waukesha police reports, authorities were called to a home on the 800 block of N. Greenfield Ave. just before 1 p.m. on Dec. 16 on a report of a fire.
Reports indicated that two concerned citizens called authorities, saying that the house was on fire.

The Waukesha Fire Department responded to the scene and got the fire under control within several minutes, extinguishing it completely within about 15 to 20 minutes.
When authorities investigated, they learned that the fire was caused by hot coals from a grill. Reports stated that a first-floor resident put hot grill coals and ash into a plastic garbage can. Authorities estimated the fire caused about $15,000 in damage.
