Waukesha Library Re-Opens After Power Outage

WAUKESHA, WI — The Waukesha Public Library is open Thursday after heavy rains caused a power outage, resulting in the library to close all-day on Wednesday.

Heavy rains over the last 48 hours have caused area rivers to swell and Gov. Scott Walker to declare a state of emergency in Southeastern Wisconsin.

In Waukesha, it caused the banks of the Fox River to swell, causing overflows in parts of the city. City officials say the river was measured at 6.8 feet, which is greater than the flood stage of 6 feet.
