Waukesha Man Held At Gunpoint For Ignoring Police: Report
Officials say when the driver of a car failed to stop for police during a routine traffic stop, the driver found himself in more trouble.

WAUKESHA, WI — Police say a traffic stop for a routine moving violation turned much more serious for a driver Thursday after the driver failed to stop for police.
According to police reports, an officer attempted to stop the driver of a vehicle, later identified as Lanny R. Deimel, just before noon on Thursday near the intersection of Garfield Ave. and Douglass Ave. Waukesha police said the driver, Deimel, refused to stop for the pursuing officer and went a few additional blocks.
The report stated that eventually he stopped for police, and was held at gunpoint for a short time until police determined it was safe to approach the car.

According to police, Deimel was issued a citation for failing to obey a traffic officer - a municipal violation - and later released from the scene without further incident.
