WAUKESHA, WI -- Police in Waukesha say a man wanted for a probation violation failed to listen to officers' commands 13 separate times and had to be tased during a March 10 incident in the city.

According to court records, Dakari Newson has been charged with resisting an officer and fleeing an officer on March 11. He's currently being held in the Waukesha County Jail on a $1,000 cash bond.

Waukesha police said an officer on patrol in the area of Ellis St. and N. Greenfield Ave. on the night of March 10 saw Newson driving, and was aware of an open warrant for his arrest related to a probation violation.

Police said Newson initially stopped, but then fled in his vehicle for a few blocks and then stopped, got out and refused to comply with 13 distinct commands to get on the ground.

Police say he was Tasered in order to be put in compliance with officers' commands prior to his arrest.
