Waukesha Minor Charged With Beating Dog: Report

According to court records, the 17-year-old faces a number of charges including mistreating animals.

WAUKESHA, WI -- A 17-year Waukesha resident has been charged as an adult after authorities say he injured a dog prior to a domestic incident in Waukesha.

According to police reports, Waukesha police responded to a home on the 300 block of Western Ave. in Waukesha just after 5:30 p.m. Monday on a report of a domestic disturbance.

Reports indicated that David Rivera, 17, Waukesha, beat a victim's dog Monday morning to the point where the dog had visible injuries that were still apparent when police were called to the house later in the day for a second incident.

According to online court records, Rivera has been charged with intentionally mistreating animals, disorderly conduct, two counts of bail jumping, resisting an officer, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of marijuana and possession of narcotic drugs.

According to reports, the dog's owner called police Monday evening after Rivera became embroiled in a physical altercation with the owner.
