Waukesha North Student Who Sent Text Messages 'Joking' About School Shooting Temporarily Banned from School

Waukesha police responded to a student's home after he sent text messages to another student "joking" about a school shooting.

WAUKESHA, WI — A student who attended Waukesha North High School has been informed that he is now allowed back at the school until school officials contact the student's family to tell him he's allowed back.

According to police reports, Waukesha police arrived at the home of the student early on Mar. 1 on a report that the student sent a threatening text message to another student.

According to the report, police arrived at the home of the student after the student reportedly sent text messages to his friend, joking about a school shooting.

When police arrived to speak with the student, he stated that his father has firearms in the residence, but that he does not have access to them. He went on to tell police that "he was only kidding, and that he had a 'dark sense of humor.'"

According to the report, the student will have a therapy plan in place, and that he understood the severity of his actions.
