Waukesha North Students To Help Throughout Waukesha Friday
On Friday, May 25 beginning at 8:30 a.m., all 1,100 students will participate in community services projects around the city.

WAUKESHA, WI — This Friday, Waukesha North students will be on almost every corner of the city for Community Service Day as they take to the city to perform helpful tasks in the act of service.
On Friday, May 25 beginning at 8:30 a.m,, all 1,100 students will participate in community
services projects around the city. From mulching and garden work to helping in senior centers and
elementary schools, students can select the type of work that interests them.
“It’s all about finding ways for our students to connect with the community,” said Greta Voit, Physics teacher at North and event coordinator.

New this year is that students will spend a half day out in the community and the other half indoors at a
very hands on college and career workshop with local business leaders. There will be student panels, on the spot job interviews as well as workshops on job interview skills and
resume and college application writing.
“We’ve developed strong relationships with area businesses, and they want to be a part of this,” said Chris el Ponte, Business Education Teacher at North.

“I think that my favorite part of this day is that you could drivethrough Waukesha and see North students volunteering around almost every corner," Emily Mcguire, senior, said. "It creates a greatexample for other schools and even other community members to see such a magnitude of love andsupport for others at one time.”
