Investiture ceremony held for Judge Schindhelm (gmtoday.com) — Waukesha residents have a new Circuit Court judge in Branch 11 as Michael Schindhelm formally took the oath of office during an investiture ceremony in the city. Local judges, law enforcement leaders, and state judicial officials attended while Schindhelm, a former federal and Milwaukee County prosecutor, pledged to be fair and follow the law in serving Waukesha County.

Kim shoots 2-under to help Lasers finish second at invite (gmtoday.com) — High school athletes from Waukesha and nearby communities turned in strong performances, with Kettle Moraine's Grace Kim tying for medalist honors and Waukesha's girls golf team taking third at a Waukesha-hosted invite. Cheapest premium gas in Waukesha County reach $4.28 in week ending Aug. 15 (waukeshatimes.com) — Drivers in Waukesha County saw the cheapest reported premium gas at $4.28 per gallon during the week ending Aug. 15, with an average of $4.90 across local stations. The story explains how global oil markets, refinery issues, and seasonal demand are keeping prices volatile, and reminds residents that posted prices can change quickly and may differ for cash versus credit purchases.
4. 48 measles cases now tied to outbreak in southwest Wisconsin (jsonline.com) — Wisconsin's measles outbreak has reached 48 cases, mostly in Iowa and Lafayette counties, but earlier this year two cases were also reported in Dane and Waukesha counties. Health officials stress that nearly all affected residents were not vaccinated and urge people to get the MMR shot, watch for symptoms like high fever and rash, and call ahead before seeking medical care.
