Waukesha Police Respond to Man Who Was Shot ... Four Years Ago

One man's claim that he was shot by a .22 caliber bullet, while truthful, was not all that it appeared to be when police arrived.

WAUKESHA, WI — One man's claim that he was shot by a .22 caliber bullet, while truthful, was not all that it appeared to be when police arrived.

According to police reports early Thursday, Waukesha police urgently responded to a man who reported that he was shot on the 1000 block of Delafield St. on a report of a man with a gun.

When police responded, the fire department also staged in the area, anticipating an injured person just after 1 a.m. Thursday.

According to police, the man had called 911 stating that he had been shot in the back outside. Upon making contact with the man, police learned that the injury occured four years ago and that he wanted medical assistance because the injury was aggravated.

Medical personnel confirmed that he had a scar from a small-caliber bullet in his lower back. He was ultimately transported by ambulance for further treatment.
