Waukesha Police Say Hit-And-Run Driver Used Stolen Car

Police say the driver of a stolen vehicle struck several parked cars, only to flee the scene.

WAUKESHA, WI — Police say the driver of a stolen vehicle struck several parked cars, only to flee the scene.

Waukesha police responded to the intersection of N. Moreland Blvd. and Michigan Ave. just after 2 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 6 on a report of a hit-and-run accident.

According to police reports, a witness reported hearing a loud crash and saw a vehicle hit two cars that were parked on the side of the road. The suspect's vehicle continued northbound and was described as a sedan only.

Police told Waukesha Patch that the driver of the vehicle crashed into several parked cars in the area. The owner of the vehicle called police later that morning to report that it was stolen. The driver of the stolen vehicle fled the scene.

Police said they are continuing to investigate this case, and reported that it is possible the key was left in the vehicle and the suspect may have located it when rummaging through the car for valuables to steal.
